Jubilee Mass

Sunday, November 26th, 2006—the day of our Jubilee Mass—dawned bright and clear. It was, in fact, a perfect November day.

There was great excitement and anticipation in the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Ballyboden, as we awaited the arrival of all our wonderful Augustinian priests and Bishop Éamonn Walsh.

It was with great pleasure that we welcomed back Mons. Leo O’Sullivan and Fr. Greg Howard, our two former Parish Priests.

We were also delighted to see all our former curates, the parish priests from the neighbouring parishes and Rev. Horace McKinley from Whitechurch Parish.

The church was beautifully decorated

It was a lovely sight to see all the priests processing up the church for the opening of the Mass.

Bishop Éamonn Walsh presided over the Mass. He acknowledged the work of all our parish priests, Mons. Leo O’Sullivan, Fr. Pádraig Daly and Fr. Greg Howard, each of whom has led the parish in his own talented way and has achieved the excellent results we now enjoy here in Ballyboden. The curates and other Augustinian priests were also complemented on their work.

After Mass, we all adjourned to Scoil Mhuire for refreshments. Fr. Pádraig cut the celebratory cake and the party began………..

You can see from these photos how much the priests enjoyed themselves:

Fr. Gerry Horan [Provincial] Fr. Des Foley both love being photographed! Fr. Pádraig does a great job cutting the cake! Dermot Flanagan (Sacristan) Fr. John Lyng Did you rob a bank, Fr. John?
